Inspired by Family

My work is a visual memory of domestic life. Through color and pattern, I celebrate the daily activities of home life, as I know it, capturing my family's most precious moments before they slip away. I use abstraction to distill these moments into forms that feel both personal and universal. My artwork illustrates the connections that we have to our kids and the nature woven into our neighborhoods. Born and raised in California, my most recent work focuses on coastal life in Massachusetts, where I am also working on a new line of home textile products. Wetlands Near My Home

Birds

Whether, flying, wading, or perched on a twig, I think birds are...

Most days, I go for a walk in the wetlands near my home - often with my dog and husband. We have been fortunate to live by the wetlands of Plum Island in Massachusetts and Crissy Field in California. Most of my artwork with wetlands are from one of these two locations. (The photo above is of the wetlands at the bottom of our street in Newburyport.)

Backyard Flowers

Botanicals

Cut flowers will fade by next week, and wild ones have their...

Flowers are everywhere. I'm inspired by the flowers overflowing from neighbors' yards, popping up in parks, and filling buckets at the grocery store. The more the merrier, and the more common the better. (The photo above is of our daughters in a meadow near our old home in San Francisco.)

Family Beach Days

Beach

I'm happiest with sand between my toes.  Many of my prints are...

We're a beach family. It's always been our go-to activity when the weather is nice (and even when it isn't). The beaches that have most inspired my work are Crissy Field in San Francisco, Second Beach and Gooseberry Beach in Rhode Island, and Crane Beach in Massachusetts.
