Inspired by time spent watching herons fishing on the riverfront in Newburyport, my "Heron on a Buoy" artwork captures one of these remarkable birds perched atop a weathered buoy—calm, watchful, and perfectly at home between land and sea.

During countless walks, I often found myself stopping to watch herons perched on channel markers, docks, and buoys. They seemed completely unhurried, surveying the water below while the tide, wind, and boats moved quietly around them. I wanted to capture that familiar coastal moment—the balance between stillness and motion that makes time by the water feel so restorative.
