As we drove from campus to campus, we passed meadow after meadow filled with blooming Queen Anne's lace. Their delicate white flowers seemed to brighten every roadside, becoming one of the lasting memories of that trip. At one of the colleges we visited, we also spent time admiring an extraordinary ancient Greek vase. Long after we returned home, those two experiences merged in my imagination, inspiring this composition that pairs the airy beauty of Queen Anne's lace with the timeless simplicity of a classical vessel.
