I was inspired to make Skyscraper because I find the process of people coming together to construct towers into the sky endlessly fascinating. As I was getting ready to submit my final artwork to my publisher, I got nervous that I might be misunderstanding parts of the construction process so I had construction colleagues of my husband, who is an architect, look over my drawings to make sure I was accurately portraying the skyscraper construction process to the youngest reading audience.
